Wedding Dec 2!

I'm shooting a wedding on December 2nd! :D

I got an email from my craigslist ad. It's going to be a small wedding, just the couple and their parents and the pastor. I'm really excited to get the experience though.

I'll post proofs after the shoot! I'm so excited!!

No New News...

I haven't had any photo shoots since Bryce's senior pictures.

I'm looking into potentially getting a job at a photo studio, maybe at a mall or something, if I can swing two jobs and a full load of college classes.

I'll definitely keep you posted on any developments, and as always, feel free to email me about scheduling a photo shoot or with any questions!!

Bryce's Senior Picture Shoot!

Last weekend, I drove up to Ankeny (about 15 minutes away) to do a Senior photo shoot with Bryce, who's a senior at Ankeny High School. He's on the football team so we did some of him in his jersey by the school and also drove a few miles down the road to Saylorville Lake to get some pictures there, which is a US Army Corps of Engineers project. We still need to find a day when the football field will be open so we can do some of him in his gear on the field since it was locked!

Here are some of my favorites from the shoot (out of 172 proofs, out of 282 total shots):

About Me

Hello! Welcome to the Three Flowers Photography Blog.

I officially started Three Flowers Photography at the end of June 2009, although I'd been trying to start it for almost a year. The first photo shoots I did were Senior pictures for two high school friends, Josh and Megan Summer, who let me use them as guinea pigs with the camera I bought for my 18th birthday. The camera I bought then, and am still using, is a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I have three lenses and a flash for it as of right now.

So far, I've done 3 senior, 1 engagement, 1 casual wedding, and 2 family photo sessions. I am also booked for a wedding next spring. :) My rates are reasonable, and I love what I do. I also want my clients to love their pictures and have fun with the shoot; my goal is to give them the best pictures possible. If they're having fun, it shows in the pictures. I don't have a studio, so all of the shoots are done outdoors, on location. I'm open to pretty much any location around Des Moines.

My name is Sara, and I'm 19. I'll celebrate my 20th birthday on November 14. I spent most of my life in Houghton, MI, which is in the upper peninsula. It's a small town, and it's where I fell in love with basketball, hockey, and photography. I adore photographing sports, since one of my favorite things to do is go to games, but that's not yet an aspect of my business; that i just do for fun. I moved to Iowa in June 2008 with my mom. I'm currently a student a DMACC, and am planning on a double major of Biochemistry and Microbiology once I transfer to Iowa State in 2010. I volunteer as my time allows; I recently volunteered with the Junior Olympics when they were in Des Moines. In addition to owning my own business, I also work part-time in retail, about 20-25 hours a week.

Feel free to email me with any questions or to schedule a photo shoot :) threeflowersphotography@gmail.com

Thank you,
Sara
